A Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) contractor will be working in the intersection of Ramon Road and Bob Hope Drive starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 in a project that is expected to close multiple lanes on both roads at the intersection through Friday, June 16.
Work hours at the intersection are 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays. The lane closures will remain in effect 24 hours a day for safety reasons.
Those closures are in addition to the current limitation of traffic on westbound Ramon Road. At noon Friday, June 9, eastbound Ramon Road traffic will also be limited through the intersection. Both closures are expected to last through the end of June.
The contractors will be installing 36-inch water pipe to better serve existing and future customers in the area. The work will not interrupt water service.
When the intersection work is complete, the project will continue with more closures on Bob Hope Drive through Dinah Shore Drive, with predictions of a completion date in August.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and to expect delays when driving past the construction zone and to avoid the area if possible. CVWD appreciates everyone’s patience while the work is being performed.
