A Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) project will continue to cause multiple lane closures in the intersection of Ramon Road and Bob Hope Drive through Wednesday, June 21.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies will provide traffic control at the intersection from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and to expect delays when driving past the construction zone and to avoid the area if possible. CVWD appreciates everyone’s patience while the work is being performed.
Work hours are 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., but lane closures are enforced 24 hours a day for safety reasons.
Just west of the intersection, the current closures that limit traffic to one lane each on westbound and eastbound Ramon Road are expected to continue through the end of next week.
A contractor is installing 36-inch water pipe to better serve existing and future customers in the area. The work will not interrupt water service.
When work is finished at the Ramon Road/Bob Hope intersection, the project will continue on Bob Hope Drive through one block south of Dinah Shore Drive, causing more lane closures. The project is expected to be complete by August 2017.
