Coachella Valley Water District’s (CVWD) new user-friendly online bill pay system is now active and will make paying water bills online easier for CVWD customers.

This upgrade is being implemented as part of an effort to provide better customer service while also keeping administration costs down. The new all-in-on, user-friendly system provides customers with several payment options including e-billing, telephone payments, text payments, multi-account payments and autopay. Copies of past bills are also available.

“CVWD is pleased to offer our customers an easier way to pay bills and manage their account,” said CVWD General Manager Jim Barrett. “This upgrade will help us better serve our customers by providing more options through a more advanced system. Customers can now pay their bills from any device, any time.”

Online bill pay is free to CVWD customers and does not include service charges, which is common among other organizations. Data and credit card information are also secured with full Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security. In fact, the district does not store customer credit card information or any other identifiable data.

In May, CVWD began several communication efforts to alert customers know about the transition. Communication efforts included email notifications, bill inserts, website alerts, newsletters and other bill messaging.

 The Coachella Valley Water District is a public agency governed by a five-member board of directors. The district provides domestic and irrigation water, agricultural drainage, wastewater treatment and reclamation services, regional storm water protection, groundwater management and water conservation. It serves approximately 109,000 residential and business customers across 1,000 square miles, located primarily in Riverside County, but also in portions of Imperial and San Diego counties.
