- 100 Year Anniversary
On January 9, 1918, Coachella Valley residents voted in favor of forming CVWD, 324 to 49. These forward thinking residents acted to form the district in order to protect and conserve local water sources. Since then, the district has grown into a multi-faceted agency that delivers irrigation and domestic water, collects and recycles wastewater, provides regional stormwater protection, replenishes the groundwater basin and promotes water conservation.
Check out our new historical book, The Story of the Coachella Valley Water District: Making Every Drop Count Since 1918.
The book focuses on the foundation of CVWD and how the district has evolved to support growth of the Coachella Valley through steadfast water service, water management and reliable water sources. Order today for only $15.
