Chromium-6 Water Treatment Facilities Project Environmental Impact Report

The Coachella Valley Water District is the Lead Agency responsible for the preparation of the Chromium-6 Water Treatment Facilities Project Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The EIR analyzes the potential environmental impacts that could result from the proposed Chromium-6 Water Treatment Facilities Project. This Project consists of water treatment facilities, associated pipelines, and a central resin regeneration facility, which would enable CVWD to achieve compliance with the new hexavalent chromium (also called chromium-6) regulation that was promulgated by the State of California and became effective July 1, 2014.

The EIR is intended as a public information document pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA, California Public Resources Code §21000 et seq.) and the State CEQA Guidelines, (California Code of Regulations Title 14, Chapter 3, §15000 et seq.).
